Assistant Director

  • The Administrative Assistant / Assistant Director supports the daily operations of the licensed school-age learning center. This role combines administrative leadership, staff support, regulatory compliance oversight, and family engagement to ensure a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment for school-age children.

    The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, professional, and passionate about supporting children, families, and staff while ensuring compliance with state licensing requirements.

  • Administrative & Operational Support

    • Assist the Director with daily center operations.

    • Maintain enrollment, attendance, and child records.

    • Assist with billing, tuition, and payment records.

    • Answer phones, emails, and greet families professionally.

    • Maintain organized office records and supplies.

    • Assist with staff scheduling and coverage.

    Licensing & Compliance

    • Follow state licensing requirements and center policies.

    • Maintain required child and staff documentation.

    • Assist with licensing inspections and audits.

    • Track staff certifications, background checks, and training.

    Staff Support

    • Assist with staff supervision and onboarding.

    • Help maintain staff schedules and required ratios.

    Family & Community Engagement

    • Communicate with parents about programs, policies, and events.

    • Assist with family events and center communications.

    • Respond to parent questions and concerns.

    Program Support

    • Support daily activities and enrichment programs.

  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education,Business, or Marketing

 Professional Nanny / Childcare Provider

  • The Professional Nanny / Childcare Provider is responsible for providing safe, dependable, and high-quality in-home childcare services to families enrolled in Proud 2 Be Me Nanny Services. This role supports children's physical, emotional, social, and academic development while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

    Caregivers may be assigned to recurring or short-term placements, including full-time, afterschool, backup, emergency, or on-call childcare services. Professionalism, flexibility, reliability, and excellent communication are essential to this role.

  • Child Supervision & Safety

    • Provide attentive supervision at all times.

    • Ensure children's health, safety, and well-being.

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.

    • Follow all emergency procedures and safety protocols.

    • Administer first aid or emergency care when appropriate and within certification limits.

    Daily Care

    • Assist children with daily routines.

    • Prepare and serve healthy snacks and simple meals.

    • Support personal hygiene and age-appropriate independence.

    • Maintain established schedules for meals, homework, activities, and bedtime when applicable.

    Educational Support

    • Assist with homework and school assignments.

    • Encourage reading and educational enrichment.

    • Promote problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.

    • Support positive learning habits.

    Recreational Activities

    • Plan engaging indoor and outdoor activities.

    • Organize arts and crafts, games, reading, and creative play.

    Transportation
    When assigned:

    • Safely transport children to and from school, extracurricular activities, appointments, or approved destinations.

    • Ensure all transportation safety requirements are followed.

    Household Responsibilities
    Perform light housekeeping related to childcare, including:

    • Cleaning children's play areas

    • Washing children's dishes

    • Organizing toys and learning materials

    • Children's laundry (when requested)

    • Cleaning up after meals and activities

    Family Communication

    • Maintain professional communication with parents.

    • Provide updates regarding daily activities, behavior, meals, homework, and concerns.

    • Immediately report injuries, illnesses, behavioral incidents, or emergencies.

    • Respect each family's privacy and confidentiality.

  • Required:

    • Minimum 18 years of age

    • High school diploma or GED

    • Previous childcare experience preferred

    • Experience working with children ages 5–13

Counselor/Tutor

  • The Counselor/Tutor oversees the daily supervision and development of students at Proud 2 Be Me Learning Center. This role is responsible for ensuring student safety, providing academic support, facilitating structured activities, and building positive relationships to support a focused and engaging learning environment aligned with the center’s mission.

    The position maintains a safe and supportive setting that promotes self-awareness and encourages students to grow culturally, socially, and academically. Responsibilities include monitoring student safety at all times, guiding participation in activities, and implementing procedures that support engagement and progress.

    The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive, and effective in working with children, with the ability to build positive relationships and support overall development in a structured environment.

  • Lead Recreational And Educational Activities

    • Plan, organize, and implement structured activities aligned with program goals

    • Encourage participation, teamwork, creativity, and academic growth

    • Adapt activities to suit different age groups and learning styles

    • Assist with scheduling staff and maintaining appropriate staff-to-child ratios.

    Supervise And Escort Children

    Support Learning Through Play And Exploration

Lead Child Care Educator 

  • The Lead Educator is responsible for the overall care, supervision, and educational development of children enrolled in the center. This includes providing daily physical care, conducting developmental assessments, and implementing age-appropriate curriculum plans.

    The role also involves fostering positive and professional relationships with the director, colleagues, families, and students to support a collaborative learning environment. The Lead Educator is expected to maintain knowledge of all applicable licensing requirements and ensure consistent compliance with established standards and regulations.

  • Child Safety & Supervision

    • Ensure the safety of each child at all times, whether in the classroom, playground, or common areas

    • Interact with each child daily to support supervision, engagement, and well-being

    • Maintain strict confidentiality of all organizational, staff, student, and family information

    Child Development & Assessment 

    • Observe and evaluate children’s development and progress as directed by administration

    • Maintain individual student portfolios to document growth and learning

    • Encourage development of self-confidence, problem-solving skills, and personal responsibility

    Curriculum Planning & Instruction 

    • Develop and implement age-appropriate, developmentally appropriate lesson plans

    • Plan bi-weekly lesson plans, learning goals, and newsletters

    • Address the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of children through structured activities

    Learning Environment Management 

    • Maintain an organized, clean, and well-arranged classroom environment

    • Ensure the learning space is safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate

    • Manage classroom materials, décor, and daily setup

    Professional Conduct & Relationships 

    • Serve as a positive role model in behavior, attitude, speech, and actions

    • Treat all children with dignity and respect, honoring cultural diversity

    • Build and maintain positive, ongoing communication with parents and families

    • Foster supportive relationships with administration, coworkers, parents, and students

    Additional Duties

  • Required:

    • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field

    • Meet New Jersey State licensing requirements and obtain all required childcare certifications

    • CPR and First Aid certification (SIDS and Shaken Baby Syndrome training required or willingness to obtain)

    • Completion of annual continuing education requirements (minimum of 20 CE hours)

    • Successful completion of required health exam, background check, and TB test

    • Ability to perform physical duties required for the role

    Preferred:

    • Prior experience in a childcare or early childhood education setting

    • Additional early childhood education certifications or specialized training
